This is a 2001 Toyota Prius. A Hybrid Vehicle powered by a Gasoline Fueled 70 HP Internal Combustion Engine and an Electric Motor System consisting of a 44 HP Three Phase AC Electric Motor/Three Phase AC Generator/Three Phase AC to DC Inverter/274 Volt DC Nickel-Metal Hydride Battery. The Internal Combustion Engine, Electric Generator and Electric Motor are combined in parallel with an Electronically Controlled Continously Variable Planetary Gear Transmission.
